Fred Broad Profile Cut Out

Fred Broad - President

Fred has been umpiring for 34 years. Started umpiring high school, junior college, NAIA, Division II, Babe Ruth, Pony baseball, Men's Senior baseball, American Legion baseball and filled in for a Division 1 series at Fresno State and a Single A series in Visalia.

Fred was the President of the San Joaquin Valley Association and also the high school baseball assignor for over seven years serving the Fresno, Clovis and surrounding rural areas. He is currently the President of the Northern California Officials Association for baseball.

Fred spent 20 years on the B2 Stealth Bomber program and years on the B52 and KC 135 programs at various air force bases.

Fred spends his free time hunting and fishing and has one son and one granddaughter.

Scott has been a high school umpire for the last 12 years. Scott is currently theVice President of our association and has served on our BOD for 4 years. Scott got started when my 4 kids went off to college. His love of the game got him interested in umpiring, as well as his desire to be a positive influence on the kids. Scott has been married for 35 years and has 4 kids. Scott has a 5th grandchild on the way.

I have been married for 43 years to my wife Sherry. We have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren.

Hobbies Enjoy camping in our RV in the Sierra's and at the ocean!

various parts of the country. Dave was an elementary school teacher for 35 years. He has been married to Debbie for 57 years and they have three adult sons.

Dave started umpiring in 2016 (9 years) after years of coaching from T-ball to high school.  Dave is a retired pilot after flying after 45 years.  Dave has been married for 42 year and he has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.  Dave says he has had a great life in all respects!

Josiah has been umpiring for about 10 years now, working games at different levels — mostly youth and high school baseball. In 2023, Josiah worked the Little League Regional in San Bernardino and it was televised on ESPN. I first got into umpiring because I’ve always loved the game and wanted to stay connected to it after playing. Josiah is the youngest in the family of 6. He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He also has 12 nieces and nephews, who he loves very much. When he's not umpiring, He likes watching football and basketball, teaching PE, and staying active. He also loves playing video games when he has time. Josiahc tries to bring a positive attitude to everything he does, whether it’s teaching, officiating, or spending time with family.

Dave has been umpiring for about 15 years, and a NCOA member for 13. This will be his 3rd year on the Board of Directors. He started umpiring when his 3 children were all done playing ball and he realized how much he was missing being around the game. He was introduced to local organizations by a good friend of his who was very active on the umpiring scene. Dave has been married for 31 years. Other interests are playing golf and being around his family as much as possible.

Brad started umpiring 18 years ago for his local Little League Association. He has worked local tournaments, state tournaments, and two regional tournaments in Ontario, California and Bend Oregon. Brad has served on the Board of Directors for his local Little League for the last 12 years. Brad has been umpiring NFHS baseball for 12 years, and does summer college league, American Legion baseball and adult baseball.  Brad has been married for 45 years and has 2 adult children and 5 grandkids.

Brad enjoys spending his spare time watching his grandkids' sporting events and working in his yard.

I am returning to the NCOA after several years away. I have served as the Training Chairman of the NCOA in the past and have dedicated most of my 30 years of umpiring to Little League, doing the LL World Series in 2016 and serving as an instructor at the Regional HQ for more than a decade. I had also served LL as a Regional Tournament Umpire Evaluator in San Bernardino (HQ) for more than a decade. I have worked JUCO ball in the past and intend to do that again this year.
